Description

Scenic view of Glen May Waterfall, beside the village Peel.

The island was a Celtic community which came under the rule of the Norse in 1079. Though a Crown dependancy, it is self-governing and is not a part of the EU.

Tynwald, the Island's parliament, was nominally founded in AD 979.
